Associate Professor Vipul Aggarwal is an Interventional Gastroenterologist. His special interests include prevention, early detection and treatment of all gastrointestinal and pancreato-biliary cancers.

As a specialist clinician he provides comprehensive, evidence based and patient-centric medical care to all his patients.

A/Prof Vipul Aggarwal trained in general gastroenterology and advanced endoscopy at Sydney at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, St George Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital. He then secured a prestigious Fellowship in Advanced Interventional Endoscopy in North Carolina, USA where he had the opportunity to learn from a faculty of International experts in the field of advanced interventional endoscopy.

A Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, A/Prof Aggarwal is a member of Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) and the American Society of Gastroenterological Endoscopy (ASGE). He is a member of the Special Interest Group for EUS, ERCP and Bariatric Endoscopy for GESA and ASG.

In 2014 A/Prof Aggarwal relocated from Sydney to Canberra to set up and expand the interventional endoscopy services in the ACT and surrounding region. He joined Canberra Hospital as a Consultant Interventional Gastroenterologist and began practice at Canberra Gastroenterology. He is now the Director and Principal at Canberra Gastroenterology

A/Prof Aggarwal is the Director of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology department at The Canberra Hospital.

He is the Chairperson and an executive committee member of the Endoscopy Faculty with the Gastroenterology Society of Australia (GESA).

A/Prof Aggarwal actively presents and publishes his research through the year and actively collaborates with other institutions within Australia and overseas. He is a frequent invited speaker to national and international meetings and conferences worldwide.

He is also actively involved in teaching and training Gastroenterology Advanced trainees and Advanced Endoscopy Fellows at The Canberra Hospital.

A/Prof Aggarwal consults in the suburb of Deakin in Canberra. He performs the following endoscopic procedures at Brindabella endoscopy centre, Calvary Private Hospital, ACT Endoscopy and at Muggawarra Endoscopy at National Capital Private Hospital.
