Canberra based endoscopy services in all areas of gastroenterology and hepatology

We provide a full range of endoscopy services including gastroscopy, oesophageal dilatation, colonoscopy, polypectomy, advanced interventional endoscopy, ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), and small bowel capsule endoscopy.

We also provide colonoscopy examinations for patients who have had positive faecal occult blood testing in the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program and Rapid Access direct endoscopy facilitated by our nurse clinic.

  • Procedure

    This test is performed to investigate symptoms such as bleeding, pain, nausea and difficulty swallowing.

  • Procedure

    A procedure used to inspect the large bowel (colon) and is usually done in a day facility or hospital. A thin flexible tube called a colonoscope is carefully fed into the large intestine.

    Gastrointestinal endoscopic mucosal resection is a procedure to remove precancerous, early-stage cancer or other abnormal tissues (lesions) from the digestive tract.

  • Procedure

    Endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty is a minimally invasive weight-loss procedure in which sutures are placed in the stomach to reduce food intake.

  • Procedure

    Endoscopic submucosal dissection is an advanced endoscopic procedure used to remove gastrointestinal tumours of the oesophagus, stomach, colon or rectum that have not entered the deep muscle layer.

  • Procedure

    Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is used to examine the ducts of the gall bladder, pancreas and liver.

  • Procedure

    Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) uses an ultrasound probe added to the tip of an endoscope and allows visualisation for needle biopsies.

  • Procedure

    A new technique similar to ultrasound used to assess the amount of fibrosis/scarring of the liver without having to do a liver biopsy.

  • Procedure

    Flexible sigmoidoscopy uses a flexible tube with a ‘video camera’ at the tip to inspect the lining of the rectum, anus and lower part of the colon.

    Intragastric balloon placement is a weight-loss procedure that involves placing a saline-filled silicone balloon in your stomach.

  • Procedure

    POEM (Per Oral Endoscopic Myotomy) has been used very successfully to treat achalasia and is much less invasive that traditional surgery.

  • Procedure

    Colonoscopy is the best way of finding polyps and the only way of removing them from the bowel.
